REPORTED OUTSIDE FIRE

Sat, Feb 27th, 2010 9:42:00 pm - This evening County Communications dispatched Box 49-1 for the reported outside fire in the 1000 Blk of 3rd Ave, bringing Co. 49 & Attack 45.  C49 (Bradnick) marked up, and was informed that the caller stated they had a small fire outside, and they were using snow to extinguish it.  C49 arrived on scene, and met up with P.D., who informed that what was smoldering outside was a mattress, and that it caught on fire inside and the occupants brought it out.  Upon investigation, C49 found a smoke condition on Division 2, and a charred head-board in the "fire" room, and requested Truck 456 for ventilation.  E49 (Chief Jacobs) arrived, and the crew from the Engine checked the room with the TIC, finding nothing.  Truck 456 arrived and set up a fan for ventilation, and when that was complete, the box was placed available.
